Colon Hydrotherapy

Oftentimes we don't give much thought to our digestive system, but we should. Gut health plays a role in one's overall health, including allergies, skin conditions, emotional and mental health, physical energy, ability to lose weight, and more. Colon hydrotherapy, which has been in use since the early 1900s, involves an infusion of warm water into the rectum to cleanse and flush unwanted matter out of the colon.

What happens during a colon hydrotherapy session?

During your first visit, you'll be asked to complete a health history form and consult with the colon hydrotherapist. From there, the procedure is fairly easy, painless and lasts no more than 45 minutes. First, the hydrotherapist will gently insert a disposable tube into the rectum and begin allowing warm water to slowly enter the colon. The water loosens and flushes out fecal matter, which the hydrotherapist can see through a clear window in the colonic machine. This allows her to observe anything of concern, such as parasites or undigested food. She may carefully massage your abdomen to assist in the elimination of lodged waste. Once the hydrotherapy portion of the process is complete, you will have the opportunity to use the bathroom to release any remaining water and feces.

What are the health benefits of colon hydrotherapy?

It has long been thought that accumulated fecal matter can negatively impact one's overall health. Some of the conditions that may benefit from the use of colonic hydrotherapy include:

Constipation
Reducing or eliminating harmful bacteria or yeast
Releasing stagnant toxins that can leach into the bloodstream
Kick-starting weight loss
Improving absorption of water, vitamins and nutrients
Clearer skin
Better mental focus
